  • Middalya Station is a half million acre cattle station in the remote Gascoyne region of Western Australia. The station covers numerous ranges, including the Kennedy Ranges National Park, and has a beautiful homestead with a pool and veggie garden. We are looking for help around the homestead, mainly in the kitchen and particularly during the mustering season of September to November (when all the cattle are rounded up). Help will include preparing lunches, dinners and snacks for the station workers, as well as keeping the homestead clean and tidy, maintaining the garden and caring for the house pets, including dogs and often calves during the muster. WWOOFers will have their own private room, shared living area, WiFi and unlimited access to the kitchen and very well stocked pantry, and we welcome all types of cuisine! You will fit right in as long as you can cook up a feed for hungry workers and make a good cup of tea!

  • The Western District coastline of Victoria is where we have our 30 acres, with 5 acres of native bush. We have visiting native animal such as koalas, kangaroos and plenty of birds. It is only a short drive to the seaside town of Portland. We use rain water for everything and so planting with this in mind is very important. All that we are creating and building here is a wonderful learning and therapy experience. We would love you to join in with us as we try to create a place for all to enjoy even in our small way.

We live on a 62 acre (25.5ha)property and grow the bulk of our vegetables and fruit organically. We run a few Jersey cows which we milk, free range Berkshire pigs, a small flock of Wiltipol sheep and some poultry. We aim to feed our livestock from grain and hay produced on the property. Work with us will be diverse and could include animal care,  preparation of animal feed, gardening, picking and preserving of fruit and vegetables, crop and hay production as well as general farm maintenance. There are always projects on the go that range from shed work to paving. We will  feed you well with food and meat grown on our farm, shared with us at our table. You will have a comfortable room with reverse cycle air conditioning in our home, access to satellite TV, mobile reception and in summer a swimming pool. The closest town is Merredin, 30km from our farm and Merredin is 260km from Perth. A train service runs most days between Merredin and Perth and we will happily provide transport to and from the station.

Skills I Want to Learn:
I joined WWOOF because I think that it can be an amazing experience for me. I want to discover the real Australian way of life. It's very enriching to learn a new culture and share the "savoir-faire". One of the thing that I would like is to know how to make organic products. In France all the food that I buy is organic, it's a bit expensive but it's possible for me because I have a good wages thanks to my job. Here I can't afford it because I have to be careful, I want to travel and I need to save money for this. So sometimes I buy some organic food but not systematically. If I have the possibility I would like to have a vegetable garden in my future house. That's why this experience is important for me. I want to learn new things, give my time and my help to people who need it. I want to take care about animals and learn more about them. Also I want to meet great people and make good friends all over the world.

I joined WWOOF because I've just met a WWOOFER host farm/family and feel that the experience is what I'm looking for. I would love to travel around this beautiful country that Australia is and experience life through the eyes of farming. Currently working on a cattle station, I am learning everyday more and I absolutely love the diversification and variety of daily activities from watching cows calves., to fencing, to gathering firewood, to helping in the garden as well as enjoying every outdoor perspective of rural work.
