Accommodation Type: In Our Home, Caravan
54 acres, 5kms from Maldon. The property is picturesque with panoramic views, large rocky granite outcrops & a swimming hole, but very dry in summer. It adjoins the forest at the foot of Mt Tarrengower. I am in the process of regenerating large areas back to native bushland, have building projects, including finishing touches to my poured earth house and general farm work. I have clean accommodation & can adjust meals accordingly. I like showing people the many wonderful sights of the area & I enjoy cultural exchange. Can P/U in Castlemaine & Bendigo with prior notice. Maldon has a very artistic and creative community and I can play and teach the Harp.

The Berry Street farm is a 35-acre property, located on the western edge of the Blue Mountains in NSW. It has 6 acres of farmland which was originally part of a dairy Co-op, established in the early 1900s. The property also has about 30 acres of bushland including two sandstone pagodas which provides expansive views around the countryside. We regularly have visits from native wildlife including kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas and a broad range of native birds. We are currently establishing an organic vegetable and flower production system. I have 30 years experience in environmental restoration programs, including the use of rain gardens, passive irrigation systems, creek line and wetland rehabilitation and have an interest in regenerative agriculture. We think you will enjoy your visit to our farm.

I have previously WWOOFed in France and always enjoy visiting my rural friends where days are often spent working alongside them on gardening and building projects. I am currently considering options for moving to the country and find that you can't beat the experience of living in communities to learn more about them. I joined WWOOF Australia to further develop my skills by being directly involved in regenerative agriculture and permaculture projects.

City/Town: Brisbane
Farming Methods: Organic
Accommodation Type: Separate Building
My husband and I live with our 4 teenage children, on 25acres in Burbank, (25 min from Brisbane City). I run two small businesses from home, organic food boxes and (equine assisted learning) an experiential horse program (providing mindfulness and life skills for youth and adults). Our organic market garden is small scale; 20m2 and a 120m food forest. We have a fertigation pump - so use alot of biodynamic principals, adding minerals to our water to build our soil and grow nutrient-dense food. Our main growing season is from March to November. We then seed green crops over the 3 months of summer . Our horse facilities include an arena and 3 irrigated grass paddocks. Our family of animals are ; 4 horses, 3 dogs, 15 chickens, one hive of bees and a large worm farm. Your job description would be to help me with all my daily jobs - weeding, gardening and bush regeneration, fence maintenance and managing water erosion, managing the market garden -preparing beds, sowing, growing, harvesting, packing weekly produce, animal care and feeding, meal prepping for ourselves, cleaning our own spaces. We work together as a team, learning and supporting each other as we go. Your accommodation is separate, 100m from our family home, it is a shed with transportable bedrooms, with a kitchen, bathroom and airconditioner (we recently lived in the shed for 18months as we were renovating our home). It is a fun way to experience living in the bush whilst being close to the city. We work 5 days, (25hrs/wk) Monday to Friday and have weekends off.
