I think WWOOF is a good way to make yourself useful and get to know about permaculture, local life, people and the country at the same time. I got very much interested into permaculture during my first WWOOF stay and I would be happy to start my own veggie/fruit garden when I get back home.

To spend time in regional areas, meet new people and to learn practical skills. I prefer to keep busy in my holidays and would like to help out on farms rather than lie on a beach! I'm interested in leaving the city some day so WWOOFing offers a chance to see how people make a living away from the corporate world.

WWOOF is a good chance to get closer into contact with locals. Learning more about them and their traditions. It is more interested to live with people from that place than staying in a hostel and get no view how the country really looks like. Beside that it is great to learn more about farming and all what comes along with that job.

It's time I started to learn how to grow things and live less from supermarkets. This has been on my mind for too long, and I think now, with what's happening with this crazy virus, it's time for me to embrace living in an alternative way.

I’m wanting to get out and meet new people and learn new things. I’m interested in learning more about natural building, organic farming, anything to do with plants/ food how to grow, look after and harvest. I’d like to gain life skills doing things in a sustainable way that cares for the planet. I’d like to be a part of a community that works together, shares ideas and grows as one while interfacing with natural environment. Hoping that by joining WWOOF I'll be able to meet some like minded people and find connections.

City/Town: Ulladulla
Farming Methods: Permaculture
Accommodation Type: Separate Building
The seclusion & privacy of 1/4 acre in the heart of town with Australian birds & wild life a plenty. A relaxed family home, with a creek & bush reserve. Hot tub, Yoga spaces & wood fired oven. Our garden consists of fruit trees, Bush Tucker, herbs, veggies, worms, bees, chooks & ducks. Must love animals and have no allergies as we have indoor cats and our friendly Labrador, Dex. We follow permaculture because we are passionate about self-reliance & futuresteading for future generations. We love growing, cooking, preserving, fermenting, medicine -making & brewing our home-grown & local produce. We have many permaculture systems in place & can show how these self-sufficient principles work in a 'normal' aussie house block in suburbia. Eg; composting, humanure, beekeeping, worm-farming, fertigation, swales, greywater, making seaweed fertiliser, wicking beds, driveway gardening, outdoor & indoor mushroom cultivation.... Other hobbies include weaving, bushwalking, surfing, music, craft, yoga, vintage cars & motorcycles, e-bikes. Work includes general tending of home & garden maintenance, making compost, mulching, digging, weeding, herb & food preserving.... in flow with the day, season & moment.  Accomodation for 2 in 'The Cottage', a private, self-contained 'tiny house' in our garden, with a Double bed, hot outdoor shower, composting toilet & camp kitchen. Some shared meals, mixed diet. 3-7 day stays. Keith is Canadian (we met while he was backpacking in Oz in '89), Nicole is of Italian heritage. We have 3 grown children & a beautiful baby grand daughter who live around the corner & visit often.  We are short walking distance (10mins) to Mollymook beach, Harbour & shops & a few minutes drive to Milton. We are very easy going & potter in the garden a few hours a day,  leaving you plenty of time to explore the beautiful south coast. Theres also the option of time learning kitchen practices like fermenting, canning & pickling, growing mushrooms, weaving & sharing wisdom.

We joined WWOOF because we want to reduce our environmental impact and try to live our lives in a sustainable way. We are both quite practical but we would like to offer our time and energy to learn new skills from our hosts that we can take with us in our journey to becoming more self-sufficient. And of course we look forward to visiting all the places in Australia we've not yet explored!

Originally, I was inspired to start WWOOFing by my older sister, who spent months WWOOFing in the UK. Since then, I have learnt so much about the world, the Earth and myself. There is also a certain sense of adventure that comes with WWOOFing, with unexpected changes in plans, deep connections and the Universe always presenting me with new lessons to learn. Plus, everything I learn while WWOOfing is directly related to my uni degree, so thats an added bonus!

We used WWOOF Australia before and loved it. It is a great opportunity to meet locals, to get to know the culture and help out on beautiful farms. We both love animals and met between golden retriever puppies.

I joined WWOOF because I want to improve my relationship to the land. I would like to develop farming and building skills, and also to learn land and animal care in various dedicated environments.

I'm very interested in the possibility of sustainable living systems, what they look like, how to set them up and maintain them. I appreciate learning from people that I can then work with, and put theory to action under gentle guidance.

Just retired, sold or gave away most of my stuff and am about to embark on an adventure. I am going to live in my Toyota Hi-Ace and travel around the country. I want to have new experiences, learn new things and meet a variety of people. WWOOF sounds like a perfect way to satisfy my ambitions while also helping others. I have only ever lived in Melbourne and Brisbane for the last 52 years. Although I have been to other places including a number of other countries, I want to experience a different side to life. I want to move off the tourist trail and see how other people live and linger a bit longer to get a real feel for the places I visit.

I have previously WWOOFed in France and always enjoy visiting my rural friends where days are often spent working alongside them on gardening and building projects. I am currently considering options for moving to the country and find that you can't beat the experience of living in communities to learn more about them. I joined WWOOF Australia to further develop my skills by being directly involved in regenerative agriculture and permaculture projects.

When I originally joined WWOOF UK in late 2018 it was a combination of a passion fuelled motivation to live life how I want to, coincidental or universal signs, timing, and the fact that WWOOF aligned with my values and passions. I was looking for a change. I knew what I wanted to do but had no idea how to do it. But thankfully I stumbled upon the world of WWOOFing and saw it as the perfect opportunity for me. I was very thorough with my research as there are many other companies that offer similar experiences, also because I was young and travelling solo, but WWOOF always stuck out to me the most. I have always felt that nature is my true home and nothing makes me happier than travelling, spending time nurturing the earth, and connecting with new people and places. Choosing WWOOF the first time around was one of the best decisions I have ever made and I'm more than excited to dive back into the experience - this time in my home country!

I am hoping to hear of and contribute to some interested projects this year before relocating to wherever I buy land. If you have a building project or run a regenerative agricultural farm I would love to hear from you. Even happy to do some designing if that is of interest.
