We want to be part and join this project because we have been wanting to get to know Australia from a more authentic point of view for some time, not being just tourists, but part of the Australian culture. We also believe that it is a nice opportunity to get out of our comfort zone and lend a hand in different fields, being ecological or sustainable agriculture topics of great interest to us.

I am wanting a tree change. Tired of the city life. I also want to see some of this great country and give back to the backbone of this country. My plan is to have no fixed address for awhile. I have had a desire to work on farms for a long time and now is the time to make that move. I want to learn a whole lot of new skills and put those skills to use by helping out our farmers. I want to develop my skills so I can farm sit, part time caretaker etc. I like Rural Aid’s Farm Army and Farm Rescues, I would love to assist more I'm looking to meet so many interesting and fabulous people and Wwoofing seem like a great way to do that. I'm wanting life to not be predictable and not the same #%*! different day kina of thing. I want new people, new landscape, new horizons, new challenges

Riverpines is a 20 year old organic vineyard in the Broke Forditch region of the Hunter Valley. Set up in the late 90's as a top shelf grape producer it has great bones. The new owners are working on a transition to a more integrated farming approach bringing in a variety of other produce and companion livestock. With a focus going forward on using biodynamic principles Riverpines is set for interesting times. Come and join us for a few days or move in for a while... Kind regards, Simon

It was always clear for us to take a gap year after school and before studying. After some research we´ve discovered WWOOF! It´s an unique way to discover Australia from an inside perspective – always in contact with locals. Additionally, we want to improve our English skills, meet new people and explore a new way of living in an interesting culture which is very different to the German one. Nowadays the majority of groceries are treated with pesticides and genetic engineering. So it´s very important for us to support organic methods. In general, we´re interested in learning about your working methods and achieving new skills. Especially working on farms makes it possible to stay active in nature. We both are pet owners so we enjoy spending time with animals and taking care of them. Furthermore we hope we´ll develop ourselves in new situations, far away from home, and collect memories that will stay in our head forever!

Of course I’m WWOOFing to travel and see the world but what I’m really looking for out of this experience is to connect to nature and get some headspace, to learn new skills, to get my hands dirty, and to come away with more knowledge about the earth and it’s creatures, including myself. I’m really excited about learning all about organic farming in every way it’s practiced. I have very far off goals of someday having my own little spot of land, even if that’s just a big vegetable garden in a backyard, and am really passionate about sustainable practices and giving back to earth as well as only taking what is absolutely needed.

I have heard from friends and strangers alike what an amazing time they've had in their WWOOFing experiences and wanted an immersive and cheap way to travel & also learn about farming!

Hi, we're Scott and Lanelle; a married couple with two toy poodles. We’ve been applying permaculture to our way of life and experimenting with regenerative systems in our suburban house, garden, neighbourhood and community. Our projects are a house-garden retrofit, community garden, native plant nursery and food-waste recovery scheme (Oz Harvest).

City/Town: Chidlow
Farming Methods: Organic
Accommodation Type: Separate Building
We live 45 km from Perth, 20mn walking distance from the Chidlow Post Office, the bus stop, forests & lake Leschenaultia. In the last 20 + years, we have  developed our hobby farm: built a solar-passive straw-bale home, established an extensive garden  as well as grown three children, home-schooled with the help of WWOOFers!!! They are now young adults, two of which still live at home. With our daughters, we grow vegetables, flowers, herbs & fruit trees. We have 3 cows and a calf, 6 goats, 2 sheep, lots of chickens, an old pony, 4 bee hives & lots of visiting birds. Work includes general hobby-farming activities such as gardening, and maintenance jobs, with occasionally some more skillful work such as rock wall building, shelter building or else, checking bees/ extracting honey etc... Accommodation is in annex for 1 – 2 non-smoking WWOOFers. We cook only vegetarian meals, mostly organic, shared with the family, although we can accommodate vegan and gluten free diets. We also speak French at home, we love playing traditional folk music, classical or old 60's songs, singing, bush-walking, we're also interested in art & craft, travel, health, spirituality and philosophy, fun, and good food. Most hot days, we'll end at the lake for a cool down swim!

The reason why I joined WWOOF is that when I worked at a nursery school, I realized and was embarrassed that I didn’t know how to grow food and producers passion in teaching children food education. l think WWOOF is a great way to learn these things. In addition, I’m interested in culture, lifestyle or work style of different countries, so I’d like to have an opportunity to stay with multicultural people and encounter a new set of values through experience of  WWOOF. And also I’d like to learn about permaculture to put into practice it in the future.

My dad signed me up. He went around Australia a while back and had great experiences WWOOFing. He thought I would like learning about how different people live, how to live more sustainably, discussing life, philosophy and the experiences of other travellers and hosts.

I want to learn more about farming. I also want some structure in the gap year I am taking. To me, WWOOFing is a way to learn more about things I’m interesting in, help others, and spend more time in areas I’m interested in.

We live on an old pastoral farm in SA. Our farm was established in 1850 by German settlers. The land has been used for grazing and growing wheat. We are working to restore the land essentially to use for growing native seeds, grape vines, a fruit orchard and vegetables. We also live on a river which we are currently regenerating with local native plants. We have a range of animals: 2 x Maremma sheep dogs Chickens Pig 2 parrots

I want to be useful and productive and not destroy the Planet. WWOOF is a perfect place for me to volunteer. To get back to my philosophy of "small is beautiful" lifestyle and community. I want to visit scenic, different locations where I've never been. Where WWOOF Hosts will have interesting and sustainable projects. Variety is the spice of (my) life. Whilst I'm not skilled in a lot of the farming techniques that WWOOF Hosts will be using, I'm happy to learn. I'm not afraid of hard work or long hours. I'm average strength and fitness. I spent a few weeks in Central Otago farming country in New Zealand in June 2021 helping my friend on her property. Acting as her clayton's WWOOFer. Loved it. But I'd already decided I wanted to go WWOOFing in Australia long before I went to NZ. It's been an aim for many years. Just a matter now of getting the van and bike on the road. Seize all opportunities that arise. While at same time helping hardworking, conscious people realise their own sustainable, small carbon footprint lifestyle.

I joined WWOOF primarily to escape the city and experience something down to earth and unique during my Uni holidays. I'm also very passionate and interested in sustainability, food and wine and thought this would be a fantastic way to develop these interests.

Spending time with WWOOing ist for to experience Australian reality of life. We learn quickly, are helpful and diligent. After a successful day at work, we will enjoy to eat local, healthy and self harvested fruits and vegetables. Australians wildlife is amazing. To meet native animals will be a great time.
