James has had a little experience WWOOFing before, as have many friends. We're inspired to meet people living off the land, building and growing things with their hands and practicing different ways of living. We hope to learn new skills, open our minds to new ideas and have fun.

We are looking to gain new experiences, meet new people, learn, embrace all that comes our way and show our kids there is more to life than work and paying off a mortgage.

We joined WWOOf to learn about different cultures, food practices and want to learn different skills. We are happy to return in our skills! We want to see what everyone around Australia is doing and have conversations about growing vegetables, keeping bees, making cheese! Whatever tickles the fancy!

I believe in the near future we will have to be much more self sustaining than we are and I am looking to gain as much knowledge as possible on growing food, working with animals, building and especially off-grid living

Before coming to Australia I managed to get a job working at a school in Sydney, however as a result of lockdown and schools moving to online learning there is no work to do. (This is because most of the work I would be doing is sports coaching and assisting in a boarding house). Thankfully after my quarantine I have been fortunate to stay with my Uncle who lives in Lismore. Although having only spent a limited amount of time here, I have really enjoyed the environment and lifestyle which is certainly different to the UK. I think working on a farm out here would be an amazing opportunity with so much to learn and experience. I think working on a farm would be a positive challenge as it is an industry that I know very little about.

I started doing a horticulture course online a few years back and just didn't commit to it. I thought maybe it wasn't the course for me but it turns out it's just not my style of learning. I don't enjoy sitting and staring at screens. That's a big part of wanting to be outside in the elements. So now I'm doing a permaculture course at Crystal Waters on the Sunny Coast next month (AUG 2021). I hope that will get me started along this journey as I have very limited knowledge on the whole thing as yet. When telling a friend about the course they mentioned WWOOFing and I figured that this would be a fantastic way to exchange my labour for education.

I hope that WWOOF will connect me with people living the lifestyle I seek to live. I want to understand how people and community's can thrive whilst supporting the natural systems that they rely on. I'm seeking first hand experience with like minded people who have already commenced their journey of sustainability. I believe that living and working with such people will provide a great insight into what to expect and how to better create environmental balance. Human connection is another reason why I have chosen to WWOOF. I love meeting people, sharing stories, experiences and knowledge. I hope to find out more about the people living this lifestyle and the journeys that have taken them to running these projects. Lastly, I hope to experience a variety of environments and practices. I know I want to create a life of balance with our natural systems, however the where and how remains a mystery. I hope that WWOOFing will provide me with the chance to experience a wide range of methods and regions.

We have joined WWOOF to work and learn from people who share a similar vision for a healthy food production system. We wish to gain experience in different climates, methods and enterprises to one day contribute to this movement by establishing our own farm but currently lack the experience to do so efficiently. We have heard from people involved in WWOOF that their experiences have been positive and are highly recommended. We wish to network with community around this shared view and discover our niche and best fit to contribute our share. We are not currently committed to a particular area so it seems the best time to get out there and take advantage of the WWOOF collective of like minded people.

When I travelled Australia I WWOOFed at a few spots in WA. Now with the family we would love to enjoy and be part of a working farm to get experience and feel the lifestyle. Instead of weeks holidays we would live to work a little and teach our kids a little more about animals and nature.

I joined WWOOF to learn both sustainable farming practices and to get a glimpse at how other Queenslanders live. I'm travelling and figured that getting my hands dirty would be the best way to gain new experiences and to extend my stay in a new places. I'm hoping to get a 'slice of life' from around our state.

He then opened 3 nurseries in Sydney selling organic herbs, vegetables and ferns. He worked in the Findhorn Community in Scotland for 3 years looking after a nursey section, market garden and a large tunnel house growing summer crops. I joined WWOOF quite simply to learn.  The idea of trying to live more sustainably has sat in the back of my mind for many years, and now with a little more time available to me I feel this is a great time to take my time. Reading about it doesn't work for me, I need to be hands on for things to really sink in. I so enjoy being  and working in the outdoors and getting my hands dirty, Being productive makes me happy. I may not have any WWOOFer experience to bring yet but I bring a whole lot of life experience, a willingness to work hard and a total enjoyment of meeting new people.
