I've journeyed through some of my lowest depths so far, and I'm here - seperate from the rat race for a more profound, embodied journey. Moving forward now knowing I can grow to learn the way of nature and become one with the universal source. SO I step into the WWOOF community, liberated and ready to hear what you have to teach me. I choose to WWOOF because its a million opportunities in one, get up and get active, stimulate my mental and a chance to meet some life long mates on my way. Caitlin Tacey Last Active: active 2 hours, 46 minutes ago Age: 21-25ViewGender: FemaleSkills I Want to Learn: Organic Practices, Permaculture/Biodynamics, Propagating, Soil conservation, Beekeeping, Worm farming, Building, Natural building methodsAfter 4 years of studying am very eager to get out of the city and away from theoretical concepts and into the natural world with real people working hard to solve issues around food production. I cannot wait to have my hands in the soil rather than typing away on a laptop all day. Through WWOOFing I hope to gain an understanding of the real life practise of organic farming. Given I grew up in Victoria, I am not so much interested in a cultural exchange or spending time doing 'touristy' things but rather working and learning from growers and farmers. I do hope to one day own my own land and have my own kitchen garden and so (rather selfishly) also hope to learn a few tricks of the trade for my own food production. I currently have leafy greens growing out of planter boxes in my tiny garden out the front of my unit in the city and it ain't cutting it! Mayuri Yoshida Last Active: active 3 hours, 9 minutes ago Age: 26-35ViewGender: FemaleSkills I Want to Learn: Organic Practices, Animal Care, Cheese making, Wine makingTo do WWOOFing, I’d like to see people who care about natural and slowly life and then I want to know their local lifestyle, language etc. I’ve done with a farm job, but it was only for 2nd visa and money. I’d like to stay and learn more local style life. I think WWOOFing is more valuable than just working in a farm. It’s not about money, we could be closer and hope to be a part of family. One of my purpose that I’m here is getting opportunities working in a winery. Since I became a wine lover, I want to learn more and talk about wine. I want to own a farm one day soon too! I am in between jobs, I have been a flood engineer for a number of years but do not align with the lifestyle, do not agree with the implemented solutions and have burnt myself out from working in a city office on jobs that impact rural areas without ever visiting the site. I miss working with people and miss working on localised problems. I need a change and have always been drawn to agriculture due to my upbringing. WWOOFing for a while suits me. Chelonia Veiw Last Active: active 5 hours, 21 minutes ago City/Town: SarinaViewFarming Methods: PermacultureAccommodation Type: Separate BuildingWe have a six acre property half way between Sarina and Sarina Beach which we purchased 14 years ago. The six acres was cleared with very little vegetation or trees when we purchased. We have created zones on the property with over 200 different fruit trees, a rain forest and many other garden zones. We are now in the process of converting our house yard to a zone 1 and make it more productive. We have a large flat that is fully self contained with all amenities adjacent to our home. We have several rain water tanks which supply the house and flat We are very fortunate to live in a community with many other permaculturists, which we come together on a fortnightly basis to swap produce, learn and share skills. Our property supports a large cross section of natural wildlife and we also have many bee hives for our Natural and pure honey supply. I use our home grown produce for our homesteading needs. Our property is on a hill with a wonderful view facing Mt Chelona hence our property is called Chelona View. We live 5kms from Sarina Beach, which is a picturesque walking and fishing beach. We are also close to Finch Hatton Gorge and Eungella National Park. Airlie Beach is only hours drive north of Sarina. Levenvale Last Active: active 1 day ago City/Town: ValeryViewFarming Methods: OrganicAccommodation Type: In Our Home, Caravan, BYO AccommodationLevenvale is an original old dairy farm of the Bellingen district. We purchased it from a family who had owned it for 130 years over 3 generations. It was tired and needed some new life. We took on the project in June 2019, to renovate, reinvigorate, reinvent (from dairy to beef) and regenerate. It is organically certified (in conversion) and consists of 300 acres of lush green pasture, 200 acres of beautiful rainforest (& trails) surrounded by amazing mountain scenery (for coastal NSW terms). 5km to town, 20km to the beach, 30km to Coffs Harbour. We are a husband and wife and have 3 small children and travelling abroad has always been a big part of our lives. We hope by opening our home to WWOOFers we will make some friendships and get some help with the conversion project we have ahead of us!
