My interest in growing and cultivating edible foods spans over three decades. My partner Ebonnie and our daughter Freeya are traveling in a firetruck-turned motorhome to live closer to nature and learn more about permaculture and organic farming. We have been in Queensland for two months. We would like to slowly navigate our way around Australia working on permaculture projects and organic farms. Our plan is to have not too much of a plan so if we like a community we will stay awhile. So far we have met so many good people who are doing a similar thing. In years to come, we would like to ferry our truck from Darwin to East Timor and then across to Indonesia so Freeya can learn subsistence farming methods there too.

It is something I want to do a lot of when I fully retire in a few years time. At present, I get some weekdays off work, so I thought that I would do a little WWOOFing. I love the outdoors & I love meeting people. I also want to get to know more about my land.

The reason for me wanting to gain experience as a WWOOFer is because I love sharing, gaining knowledge and making friends along the way. My goal this year is to focus on myself and eat healthy, become fitter and make a connection with the land we are all on. I would like to learn as much as I can and share some of my knowledge (and possible offer massages along the way - sharing is caring, right?). I have done some WWOOFing in NZ previously and love the spirit. The best move was for me to leave the city life behind and focus on whats really important.

I would like WWOOFing to add to my growth as a person and broaden my understanding and knowledge of self sufficiency, nature, wellbeing and community. I am willing to put in hard work and persistence and enjoy the satisfaction of seeing your work add to a larger project and process. While WWOOFing, I hope to meet inspiring and open minded people to connect with, share ideas and experiences, or simply coexist with.

To work on a cute farm and be a peasant working outdoors and eating healthy food, away from pollution. It really seems like the most enjoyable way to avoid covid and maybe I will learn a thing or two about and gardening and self sufficiency.

We share a huge passion for nature, conservation and organic and natural farming (our dream is to own and run our own farm one day)! As we continue exploring Australia, we hope to continue pursuing these interests and expand our skills.

Skills I Want to Learn:
Covid-19 has given us the opportunity to take a year away from home. We want to see some of Australia; we want to experience rural community; we want to support organic growers in a time when our experience and labour might be useful. We would like to enjoy new relationships, see different ways of living life, understand our country and our fellow Australians more deeply. At the end of our year we hope to have some new friends, to have lived in some remarkable places and to have contributed to some remarkable food production.

Because I want to learn! I'm a hands-on learner, and with my greatest achievement to date being my ability to keep 25 house plants alive for 2+ years, and worm farm for 4 months - I've got a way to go. I'd love to support the hosts in cultivating their own piece of land, join the sustainability community and give back where I can.

We joined WWOOF because each and every life style and environment has something to teach! We like the contact with others that WWOOFing allows, discovering through families or individuals with their own culture and habits ; as we could share some of ours with you as well, if you are interested of course! Through our different experiences and depending on the kind of farm you run, we would be very interested to know more about permaculture and organic gardens. We hope to offer you our help with the tasks you would need us to do, such as taking care of the animals if you have some, doing the garden, or anything related with the farm. As every farm has its own needs, we will be glad learning from you, to get the tasks done the best we can! We believe in a society where exchanges of services without money transaction, based on trust and humanity, would be common, and this is what WWOOF represent. So we are looking forward to begin this adventure.
