I joined WWOOF in order to gain a new, more hands on experience and learn new things, which I'm always excited about. It's also a great opportunity to do so by helping out, meet new people, travel and experience Australia differently, as well as learning more about organic farming practices. My passion is hospitality but I think that learning about products themselves, farming, and get the opportunity to learn about it hands on myself is just as important as learning about wine or service or cooking techniques.

Skills I Want to Learn:
I joined WWOOF to gain experience as an individual and in organic farming, I believe the future is in organic, sustainable farming on a local and commercial scale. We're seeing how unethical our methods are with poor crop yield, and unhealthy soils. I would like to learn how to bring organic farming to my neighborhood, and my own backyard in the future to reduce my carbon footprint. I want to learn from other countries, and their methods of sustainable agriculture.

In autumn 2020 I´ll have 3 weeks in Victoria between my arrival with a cargo ship after 2 months on sea and the start of my holiday with my wife. It´s most probably 28.9. to 17.10.. I´d like to spend these weeks in a meaningful way as a full-time volunteer on a farm or something related.

Skills I Want to Learn:
I would like to learn about organic farming and the local life in Australia. I was a Wwoofer in 2015 in New Zealand and stayed for one week with a family. I did some gardening, weeding, animal care and played with the kids. I really enjoyed the because because for me it is the best option to meet locals and learn from their lifes. Before I will start my next job in Germany, I want to clear my mind and regain new energy with a stay on a farm in Australia. This year we would like to start planting our own veggies and fruits in Germany and I hope I will return back to Germany with more experience and useful advices.

Even though I know exactly what kind of job I want to do, I don’t feel ready to start an independent working life in a city as big as Paris yet. I grew up in the suburbs, surrounded by nature, quietness and a breathable air. When I was a kid, I used to scout with my friends during week-ends and summer holidays. We camped and hiked in the forests and the mountains, crossed small rivers, farms or fields as far as the eye could see. Discovery, adventure, nature, surpassing oneself, those are the words that truly define my scout experience. I always knew I'd need to go back to those kinds of experience in the future. So here I am, doing a gap year between my last two final years of study so I could experience wwoofing in Australia. It’s an opportunity for me to take a break from this predefined pattern of student and professional life in order to reflect and to refocus on what I'm ready to do. Discovering Australia has always been one of my dreams. I look forward to arriving in this country with so many beautiful diverse landscapes. I believe that wwoofing is the best way to be fully immersed in Australian life and culture, meet new people and improve my English.

I am interested in the trade, barter, exchange and gifting economy and also learning permaculture and farming skills. I love sharing knowledge, pollinating ideas between farms and supporting the growers who support us. I would love to connect with people, plants and planet and do hands on activities that nourish and sustain us, whilst learning new skills.

I joined WWOOF because I hope I can find people who share the same values than me. I want to learn about farming in a respectful way for the environment and ourselves. I also want to help as much as I can. I have done some couchsurfing for a few years and believe that WWOOFing is something similar but in a farming way. I can't wait to find out about it!
