Skills I Want to Learn: Organic Practices
Since we arrived to this part of the world our interest in organic and healthier products increased significantly. We discovered a new way of eating that feels really good! Due to the recently movements related to the Covid19, our plans changed from one day to the other and now we are trying to find a place to stay during these hard weeks.

I joined WWOOF Australia because my job at Darebin Parklands ended in August 2021. I thought this would be a good opportunity to return to my beloved WWOOFing and be of service there during covid. WWOOFing for me is about achieving a strong bond between me and my host and at the same time, between me and the land I'm being trusted to care for. To me it's all about the relationship and that can't be achieved in just a few days. When I go WWOOFing, I like to learn about the land and about my host. I like to listen, learn and explore. I like to spend time doing a job once and doing it properly. So I like to spend time with a compatible host. I want to stress again the importanct of values alignment. I talk a lot about values because that's a good way to achieve compatibility.

We joined as we want to be in nature and help wherever we can to your household and livelihood especially in these difficult times. Francesco finishes his contract in June and we would love the opportunity to live on a farm with people where we can work as a community. I'm a city girl and I was hoping this would give me a insight into the idea of living on the land and practices of organic farming & learning about animals. We all want to reduce our footprint on this world and sustainability & learning new skills is crucial. I'd love to share and learn these experiences with my daughter. We were hoping that we could start WWOOFing on weekends and if we work well together we could help on more long term basis. We are currently very flexible. We value time, working hard and building meaningful relationships with the hosts. Francesco and Maia speak fluent Italian and happy to teach. We also love cooking.

We are a French-Australian couple, both 33 years old, who lived in Sydney for over 4 years before going on our adventure around the country in December 2019. We had enough of the city life and our long term plan is to buy a farm where we could live a sustainable lifestyle. We would like our Wwoofing experiences to bring us the inspiration and skills we need to start our project, while helping our hosts achieve their own goals.

City/Town: Balnarring
Farming Methods: Organic
Accommodation Type: In Our Home
I travel between 2 homes and welcome WWOOFers at either or both. 1: Basic old cottages & caravans at a beautiful beach on the Mornington Peninsula which used to be part of a farm & is now growing food & indigenous vegetation for wildlife habitat. 2: An old house and garden near Yarra River parks close to Melbourne. Both places are organic, influenced by permaculture and my environmental work & training. Work includes gardening, building, maintenance, care of animals & household. I enjoy cultural exchange & sharing many interests. Life full of animals, books, art & music. We welcome children b.a. & mature aged WWOOFers. Non-smokers. Mixed diet.

I am interested in the non-city life, and the sense of well-being it can bring to the soul - I often feel anxious and enclosed in cities. Due to having my gap-year plans cut short by this year's circumstances I am also looking to seek out new adventures, meet new people and rediscover the country I call home.

I joined WWOOF to explore and learn - I hope to achieve... exploration and learning! I am exited to meet new people, help with projects, exchange knowledge and interests and drink lots of tea! When I was growing up, our family was a WWOOF host for a number of years - which I believe has influenced my desire to be part of the WWOOF community.

I joined WWOOF to gain experience while on holiday and to support the community around me. I am hoping to learn a lot from others on sustainable practices and on the amazing things that some of the hosts are doing! While I consider my job to be very useful for the environment, it is sometimes very high-level/strategic, and I need to balance this with some concrete and immediate impact.

Skills I Want to Learn:
I really like to get to Australia. My nomad blood is calling me, and the size of the continent is providing an irresistible attraction force. I got some skills that I want to improve. My dream is to work as a stockman in Australia. I would like to work on a cattle farm and to manage part of my duties on horseback. In exchange for the possibility of growing, and getting closer to my goals, I'm happily willing to offer my work force, time, stories of my homeland and of course my outgoing personality 🙂 I'm happy to share what I got for mutual benefit <3

I'm looking forward to the opportunity to meet interesting people (both wwoofers and hosts) around the country and share experiences, knowledge and ideas. I'm keen to learn new things and help out where I can. I've done a little bit of wwoofing in the past (not for a while), and I'm hoping to meet more like-minded people and contribute positively where I can. I'm particularly interested in learning more/helping out with self-sufficiency/off-grid living, sustainable homes/building, permaculture (keen to get a practical overview), soil, 'alternative' living arrangements, animal care (wildlife and domestic, particularly horses), ecotourism, bikes/cars/mechanical things, and other practical skills. I'd like to offer my skills and time to assist others where that would be useful for their work, property, or sustainable/enviro-friendly goals.
