Something of a fairly unique small acreage (about 3) as it is in suburbia some 17 klms from the Sydney CBD. We have residential homes on two sides, a couple of similar acreages on one side and bushland on the other. We have many native animals on the property, including Wallabies, Cockatoos, various reptiles and numerous other bird species. We also have two Horses - one of which is an outstanding riding Horse (Australian Stock Horse) and can be ridden by WWOOFers who demonstrate competence. Our Horses also supply considerable levels of natural fertiliser which can be used as appropriate. We aspire to being truly Biodynamic. We look across bushland and ridges to the ocean and are situated about 15 minutes drive from the surfing beaches of Sydney's Northern Beaches. We have a bus stop almost at our front gate and a club, pub, shops and restaurants 500 metres away. We have in the past grown a variety of fruit and vegetables but currently only growing some Aloe Vera for personal use and a few mature olive trees. I would like to regenerate the property and renew the vegetable garden in the interests of good health as I live a supplement free life where I get all my nutrition through food only sources and I am endeavouring to have my Children adopt the same lifestyle. We have a large modern home - the WWOOFer who stays with us will have their own large comfortable bedroom and ensuite bathroom.

I feel that WWOOFing may be the ideal way for a solo woman to travel and be able to connect to the land and community. Being able to learn new skills and offer my services suits my character, I like to feel I have a purpose and I like to be busy. I am excited to learn what it's really like to be living off the land first hand.

During our year of exploration, we hope to have many adventures and meet a variety of likeminded people along the way. We plan to volunteer and work through the WOOFING community, where we can learn new skills and be a part of a community instead of just passing through. We are excited!

You will be treated well, eating healthy vegetarian meals, & I'll make sure your stay is comfortable & enjoyable. Accommodation for 10 within my home, caravan, tent, or BYO. Shared meals, vegetarian only. Children b.a. No smoking near house. Length of stay neg after first few days. The past two years of living with Covid-19 has been taxing! As someone living in an urban city, life has pretty much been contained to the four walls at home. Am keen to be out and about in the sun, with the travel restrictions gradually easing worldwide.

After 4 years of studying am very eager to get out of the city and away from theoretical concepts and into the natural world with real people working hard to solve issues around food production. I cannot wait to have my hands in the soil rather than typing away on a laptop all day. Through WWOOFing I hope to gain an understanding of the real life practise of organic farming. Given I grew up in Victoria, I am not so much interested in a cultural exchange or spending time doing 'touristy' things but rather working and learning from growers and farmers. I do hope to one day own my own land and have my own kitchen garden and so (rather selfishly) also hope to learn a few tricks of the trade for my own food production. I currently have leafy greens growing out of planter boxes in my tiny garden out the front of my unit in the city and it ain't cutting it!

I'm joining WWOOF to hopefully get some experience on what farm life is like, learn new skills and hopefully make it more common in my life as there must be more to life than what I'm currently doing now. Also meeting like minded people is very appealing. Working for board and lodging is very appealing and makes seeing more of my country a reality. Speak to hosts and work out the social side of stuff required as well as possibly becoming a host!

Mount Murray Farm is 790m up on the edge of the Illawarra Escarpment on 25 acres of rich volcanic soil. We host workshops and are currently developing our permaculture plan. The farm has Chickens, Sheep and Alpacas and is home to four dogs and three indoors only cats. The wildlife here is exceptionally diverse, including wallabies, wombats, and abundant bird life. We need help with the gardens, helping with the livestock and implementation of the permaculture design. We are not far from the coast, 6klms to the town of Robertson and one hour and forty mins from Sydney.

I have some friends who have done WWOOFing who have told me it was the best thing they ever did. I've been desperate to get out of the city for so long, unsure of where to go or what to do or if I'm sure it's "what I want" etc, I've been hesitant to make the move. But I'm so ready to make that shift now, and I just want to learn and gain more experience in farming as that's where my passions lie. I would really love to learn more about sustainable agriculture/permaculture practices as I'd love to one day have a farm of my own on some property, so I'm open to any and all experiences! Currently I am unemployed and have been for some time, my work experience is as a cook in various cafes, but the food wastage in the hospitality industry was doing my head in and not aligning with my ethics so I quit for a time. The last place I worked at was great - it had it's own garden out the back and tried to grow as much produce as it could, with composting and worm farms, which I really loved (but sadly they closed). Ever since then I've been wanting to learn more about food production and how to incorporate it into every-day living in a sustainable way.

I wanted to see Australia and work with Aussie farmers as I enjoy the outdoor work and rural living, I hope to build a new skill set and learn more about rural living, agriculture and permaculture. I want to live a well-balanced life in work and play. Wwoofing seems like a great avenue to take to get enjoyment from life as well as being able to explore new natural environments.
