The main purpose of joining WWOOF is to have practical experience of a sustainable lifestyle. I have learned about permaculture, organic farming and such "sustainable" concepts at my university. However, I have not actually tried such lives in a certain period of time. Thus, I would like to practically experience permaculture and deepen my thoughts on sustainable lifestyles through WWOOFing,

My grandfather has a small farm, so I sometimes help him. I like to do farming, and I really love beautiful nature. The reason why I join WWOOF is that I want to use these experiences to contribute to agriculture in Australia.

I love vegetables so much! There are a few organic farmers around me. And their vegetables are very sweet and tasty! I have been to their farm several times to support their work and learn how to make these delicious vegetables. They don’t plow too much for the biodiversity in the soil. The soil have a lot of earth worms and really good smell. When I touch the soil at the first time, I was surprised to the power of the soil and I was really soothing. And I felt that healthy soil have huge potential for save the earth. That is why I’m very interested in organic farm with healthy soil.

I have 2 reasons why join WWOOF. First, I got a chance to go abroad. Now, I am studying about related to agriculture. Actually, Japan and Australia have same introduced spices “The large earth bumblebee”. They give us benefits but have an impact on the ecological. I want to know how impression people in Australia have for this bumblebee, how many this bumblebee effect on agriculture, how work with this bumblebee. Second, I’m interested in how to prevent pests and disease on organic farm. Organic farms rate so low and organic vegetables price so high in Japan. I often watch on TV about organic farms in overseas. I want to know about organic farms are how cultivate, what opinion from the public, why could be mainstream in Australia. I’ll experience in organic farms and get knowledge to help make sustainable agriculture in Japan. I love farm work with cheerful farmer!! Please join me with you in your farms in Australia.

Since I'm into food, I started to curious about how the foods grow including vegetables or animals. Also interested in sustainable living practice which many WWOOF hosts are applying so I thought I could learn from them. I'm interested in organic/ permaculture practice, I thought volunteering through WWOOF is the best way to start with.
