Having lived in Perth for the last 8 years, I'm eager to get away from the city to spend time learning how to live a more sustainable life and ways I can give back to the Earth. I'd like to broaden my skills/knowledge of horticulture through hands on experience while meeting friendly like-minded people.

I would love to learn more about permaculture living in relation to Australian native plants, regenerative agriculture and urban/peri-urban food production. I'm keen to get stuck into a specific project or just to help with the day-to-day running of a farm/garden. I am also planning on building a tiny house in the next couple of years, so am keen to get some basic construction experience.

I decided to starting woofering because I’ve always wanted to travel up the coast soo I thought I could tie the two together at the same time giveing back to the farmers at such a difficult time whilst seeing new places and doing some fishing and camping along the way. I’m very interested in learning new ways of farming, such as different ways of harvesting, propagating, farm maintenance, feeding and caring for stock/Animals

Heartwood Farm is a 7 acre property at Newrybar in the Byron Bay Hinterland. As my current work life is seasonal (April to October in Canada) I think I would like to expand that to be able to work in the winter months as well. And...I love to travel (when we're allowed to)...and in September/October 2019 I walked the Camino Frances in Spain and one of my walking companions, who I met on Day 4 and stayed with until the end, is from the Melbourne area, and I would love to reconnect with her. It would be wonderful to be able to travel back to Australia for all these wonderful reasons!

I joined WWOOF to travel, meet new people, get some ideas for my own dream garden/ property and to have some life experiences. I have travelled lots over seas (Asia, India, Europe, Africa, Middle East) and that was amazing, but I am keen to see what my own country has to offer. I am starting to think about settling down and would like to get some ideas about my own home/ garden/ property. I am not really sure where I want to settle down yet, so I am keen to travel around and maybe find a corner of Australia that I really connect with. I also really enjoy exploring new environments and am looking forward to discovering some hidden gems around Australia (I have my mountain bike and surf board with me!). I am happy to do anything as long as there is plenty of fresh air and sunshine. I like the idea of WWOOFing because being into organic gardening already tells me I will probably meet some like minded people who are on a similar wavelength, which I am looking forward to.

Originally from Konstanz /Germany I have moved in 2018 from Sydney to Franklin/Tasmania.I have bought 7 acres of land( which used to be a raspberry orchard,)back in February 2019. There was nothing on the land apart from a shed and an overgrown dam. 18 months and a lot of effort later, I have establish what I call my basecamp:). I am connected to the grid, have plenty of rainwater in my tanks, a fireplace which keeps me warm and a well equipped workshop. I am currently working on my cottage, so anyone with building skills is most appreciated. Looking after my  ever growing garden, my 6 ewes or making firewood for the next winter is always on the todo list:)
