I joined WWOOF because I think it's a good way to get much new experiences, getting connected to people, learn a lot about Australia and hopefully about myself. It is great to help people with some work and get accommodation and food. And to be honest it´s nice if you have not that much money to travel.

Accom for 1-2 people in my solar-powered home or comfortable caravan. No children. Mixed diet. NSI. Neg stays after a visit of 1 week. The Rickert family welcomes you to the middle of the bush! We are a very sociable and informal community consisting of Maria, her three adult children and two grand-children, including Pottery Studio, Café and Farmstay permanent staff and volunteers. We run a small farming business with horses, goats, sheep and chickens. If you have green fingers, there is a large organic green house that is in constant need of weeding, watering and harvesting. This is the home to the famous Pilliga Pottery, a large and flourishing creative enterprise, not to mention the Blue Wren Cafe that is open seven days. Our buildings are unique and made from mud-brick, straw bale, rammed earth and local timbers. WE HAVE AN AMAZING DEEP AND COOL SWIMMING POOL !!! Work is required in gardening (weeding and watering), helping in the café and also the pottery studio. Leisure activities include volleyball, swimming, bush walking, bird watching, pottery, sculpture, artwork, playing musical instruments and milking the cow. If you do not own a vehicle, we will collect you from the bus stop in Coonabarabran.  No smoking inside. Pet friendly.

I am interessted to work outdoor or with animals. In my homebuisness as Grafikdesigner it is all very "abstract" and sitting all the time at the computer. So I would like to do something in natur and handworking in my 2,5 month stay in Australia. And getting in touch with the australian way of life.
