Skills I Want to Learn:
I joined WWOOF looking to get some hands on work and to engage my son in a variety of worldly experiences, learning about the environment and life skills. We were supposed to be travelling Australia but with COVID that has not happened so instead of sitting around waiting we want to get out and be useful.

Only recently I heard of WWOOF on a podcast. Looking into it was something that called me to do so. I see that it is mostly for overseas volunteers but I thought, why not give it a go. My work is of a freelance nature, so I often have clumps of days off, sometimes a couple of weeks. I am currently considering leaving Sydney. As well as wanting to experience the country life I have always wanted to see more of Australia. Where to go is an open book. I would love to find a host in Tasmania, but I am open to all opportunities. I am interested in learning about living in unison with nature. I am curious about raising Beef and other animals for food. Permaculture techniques, living sustainably, off grid, water catchment, enriching and producing soil, composting. Building and maintaining fences and other requirements around a property. Taking care of pets and plants. I hope to learn various skills and a greater understanding of what is required to live this life. One day moving into this world permanently.

I am looking to WWOOF because I am planning on making my way up to Queensland once the borders open again to help open up a restaurant. I did work away for a month last year in Cambodia and fell in love with the working life of helping others to stay afloat. I don't have a lot of money to be able to merely travel, however the wanderlust I have grown since last years adventures has grown to strong, and the threat of covid19 isn't making it any easier for me. Alongside of helping, I have joined WWOOF mainly to meet new people and to learn about different arts and hearts that cross a similar path that I'm strolling down. I love interacting with people and picking at their brains to soak up as much of their love and knowledge as possible.

We joined WWOOF because we are on working holiday visas and would like to do 88 days of regional work so that we can stay in Australia for a second year. We think volunteer work is a great way to do this!

I wanted to see Australia and work with Aussie farmers as I enjoy the outdoor work and rural living, I hope to build a new skill set and learn more about rural living, agriculture and permaculture. I want to live a well-balanced life in work and play. Wwoofing seems like a great avenue to take to get enjoyment from life as well as being able to explore new natural environments.

I’m really hoping WWOOFing can help me find the right fit for me. A one stop website for all thing WWOOFing is super convenient. WWOOFing will help me be able to have a better work/home balance. I can’t wait to learn new skills, meet new people and see new places. If all goes well maybe in the future I can host WWOOFers.

I hope to spend summer 2020 and all of 2021 balancing study with travel and WWOFFING. I am passionate about sustainability and hope to learn as much I can with some hands on experience at organic/biodynamic farms so that I can pass this knowledge on to the next generation!

A close family friend recommended this organisation and it resonates so much with me and my character. I love travelling and seeing new places, but I find it so much more fulfilling if I can also give back / contribute in some way, and learn new skills or knowledge in the process. This for me adds so much meaning + value to a trip. I am passionate about nature and the environment, I'm a hard worker, and have an easy going personality. I feel most at home when i'm surrounded by trees and birds! So many things in WWOOF seem very much in tune with my values, and I'm really looking forward to getting involved 🙂
