A few years ago, I spent a few weeks working in a wildlife rehabilitation center in South Africa and it was amazing. Living in the small, flat country of the Netherlands, I am looking forward to immersing myself in a completely different, open and more rugged environment to work with nature and animals again. WWOOFing seems a great way to discover a new place; while working hard and learning about my surroundings and the people, and hopefully making new friends along the way. I am looking to work for a few weeks in one place, explore the area, and continue to travel more of the country. I would love to work with or around animals, food and wine, or with ocean/lake/river related projects. However, I am broadly interested and open for experiences that had not yet crossed my mind. I'm not afraid of getting dirty and although do not have much experience in farming, I am looking to learn more, and I generally learn fast.

When one of our friends back home told us about her WWOOF experience in Tasmania we instantly knew that this is what we want to do too. We applied for a working holiday visa with a main goal to learn and gain experience rather than earning money. We'd love to contribute and bring some joy through music and good food while doing so 🍀

While being on the other side of the world I would like to do as many different things as possible to discover as much about myself that I can. I like meeting different people because we all have different stories and can learn much from eachother.

I decided to join WWOOF to be able to learn about sustainable agriculture methods such as permaculture in order to practice them myself later and to experience a community lifestyle. I truly believe that our society needs to learn from nature and to apply more sustainable methods to operate in the long term.

By Wwoofing I hope to meet people and learn a little about the life in the beautiful vast Australia! I don't want to be a tourist only and would love to make myself useful! Besides I love nature and would love to volunteer on a farm, animal shelter, workshop or any other. And especially after the horrific bush fires maybe some people could use some extra hands. I enjoy working with my hands and as an engineer I have a very practical approach.

I joined WWOOF because I really like living and working on a farm. With joining WWOOF I hope that I can help Australian farmers and get to know more about living here. Also, I hope that I meet some new people as it’s hard to meet new people in the city due to the current virus situation.

3hrs from Melbourne Airport I am a retired secondary school teacher and run a small BnB business and, having moved onsite recently, I am establishing the garden and maintaining the property. I keep bees, and wish soon to increase the number of hives I have. I have hosted many Couchsurfers in my own flat, but will provide more private accommodation with the help of WWOOFers ASAP. The property is within a short distance of the Halls Gap village, and is set adjacent to the very popular Grampians National Park, famous for its mountains, wildlife and hiking and climbing. There is usually abundant opportunity for additional work in local restaurants, etc., if desired.

I joined Wwoof because I love the idea of being out in nature and doing something with my body and mind. I'm taking a gap year because I don't feel like college is the next step for me at this point. I want to do something that makes me feel motivated and alive, which is a feeling I get doing work outside. What I hope to achieve with Wwoof is just to help people. If someone is willing to teach me something new then I'll work my hardest to understand it and apply it.

Our 75-acre property is in the Noosa hinterland, on the side of Black Mountain with views across the ranges. We have 2 spring-fed dams. Happy Jack Creek runs through the bottom of the property. In April 2017 we planted 2000 native trees and plants, after which we created a large organic vegetable garden using Bio-dynamic methods. You must like large dogs as we have two very friendly ones!  We are yoga and meditation teachers. Accom for 2 within our home or in our guest cabin. Shared meals. Vegetarian only. No children.
