We are looking for up to 2 people to help feed cattle and sheep, and a handyman that would like to do some building, such as fencing. We have 1000 acres of native vegetation, 4500 acres of grazing country for farming & bee keeping, with red undulating soil. Volunteering on our farm includes sheep & cattle stock work, farm chores, fencing, organic gardening, milking cows, tending sheep, chickens & turkeys, pruning trees and whatever else needs doing. At the moment we have some baby lambs and calves that need to be fed and taken care of. If you are interested in learning something new and getting to know what life on an Australian Farm is like, you are more than welcome to stay with us. We love to get to know different people from other countries and are happy to teach you new skills. We hope that you will have an unforgettable and unique experience with us on our rural farm in the Australian outback. We generally prefer longer stays.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering. We appreciate help, enjoy young people and having an excuse to visit the beautiful and interesting places Adelaide, the hills and the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia have to offer with them. Due to the corona virus all our booked overseas helpers had to cancel their flight to Australia. The first time in Years we might at times be without helpers at all. Some local Australian helpers, unable to go overseas are now filling the gap which is very nice as we used to have overseas helpers only before. Please read through all the text below and only apply if you think this is for you. We live on a 2 hectare property with the young Angas River running through. We have organic gardens with fruit trees, all sorts of berries, vegetable gardens with free roaming bantams, big layer hens, a Muscovy duck, flower beds, lawns as well as two goats on paddocks and a cute house cat. 1 of our 4 kids, Katharina, is living next door with her partner. Bernward is semi retired but still runs a sustainable architecture and building consultancy business part time from offices attached to the home. Barbara works at the local hospital. We have been accommodating helpers since 2011  through various help exchange sites. If you want a break from travelling in a non judgmental  friendly  family environment and you are open and self-motivated, this is the place for you. This is not an action or party place but rather a place to relax and get creative with great light, & scenery for painting and photography, write and get back to nature. A big woodworking workshop invites creativity. I enjoy teaching woodworking skills to our helpers with the option to learn how to fit out campervans and tiny houses. A couple of times a week we heat up our Sauna and helpers are welcome to join. Help is always needed in the garden & paddock, picking berries & apples, looking after animals, weed control, making firewood, compost, cleaning up sheds & around the place, sometimes on a sustainable building site. We live 45min by car from Adelaide, 45min from safe swimming beaches & 45min from the surf, so we are pretty central. Accommodation  for 2 in separate stone cottage & own room in the main building. All share in home cooked evening meal. Mixed diet. No smokers please. Longer stays (min 3 weeks) preferred after initial few days. Please contact us via email only.

Belted Galloway cattle farm in the southern highlands. We milk these cows, too - they love to be patted. We also raise chickens for breeding and eggs, have a Permaculture veggie garden, and have just planted hazelnut trees. We are at our next stage of bushfire recovery having completed fencing and felling some trees. There are many tasks still to do even though it has rained and looks green. We need to expand the permaculture areas, constant weeding, pruning fruit trees, planting bare rooted vines and transplanting fruit trees. We also maintain a small wildlife reserve on part of the farm and look at grasses to make sure that the wombats we co-exist with have enough to eat. Volunteer tasks include feeding chickens, tending veggie garden, moving cattle to strip graze, milking cows (in non drought situations), weeding, collecting firewood, composting & worm farming. Accomodation for 2 within our home. Shared meals, all cook together. Mixed diet. Vegetarians & vegans catered for. Children b.a. No smoking on property. Initial stay 12-14 days. Longer stays negotiable.

A Paradise of food species from all over, Bamboos, Kayaking, fermenting, sour dough, wicking beds, these are just some of the things awaiting you when you come to Bucca Haven, our 5 acres of developing organic food forest. We have almost 100 bamboo clumps, all mature & provide endless mulch, shade & timber material for all sorts of projects. It is called the thinking mans timber. We grow an abundant and varied amount of food plants all year round, we can use anything from 25 to 30 different species in our green salad, none of which is lettuce! We have in excess of 150 different species of food plants from across the sub tropical regions of the earth, & are always on the lookout for more variety. We enjoy a sunny, warm to hot climate, 20c to 38c except in winter which for us in June thru to Sept which could be as low as 7c overnight to 27c daily. We love good food, healthy food, home grown food. So if you like to cook, great! When the dam is full, it is our swimming hole. When the dam is low, we go 6k to the Kolan River for a cool swim, or Kayak. We are 31km from Bundaberg & 27 km from Gin Gin. We can collect you from either town if you do not have your own transport. We are a Christian family, in our 60's, still very active, gardening, swimming, kayaking & socialising. We both have a good sense of humour. But we need you to speak English as we don't have any other language. If you can read English too that is even better.

Last year I booked a one way ticket overseas, alas that dream did not come true so here I am following a different path with just as many cool options. I want to travel around to gain experience on the land, learn new skills and see different lifestyles and landscapes - I am pretty keen to see where this journey could lead. Some goals I have are to read more books, work with animals, ride more horses and drive a tractor. I want to learn how to build a house.

Small Bio-dynamic property in beautiful artistic Deloraine, living & gardening for food & beauty in harmony with nature. Large vegetable garden, orchard, herbs, flowers, hothouse, geese, beekeeping with natural warre beehives, solar, sustainable building projects & maintenance, artistic projects & a magical rescue greyhound dog. Good place to learn about Bio-dynamics. Seasonal & joyful work: gardening, harvesting, preserving, fermenting, artistic projects, building and home maintenance. I am a therapeutic dance teacher & work with arts & creativity.  I enjoy dance, meditation, bushwalking & creativity. WWOOFers welcome to join in on these activities. Accommodation for 1-2 in cosy barn or in the house. Shared meals, meat & vegetarian. No children. No smoking on property. Longer stays after initial stay.  2 min walk into beautiful town & walks by the river that has platypus. I think the best qualification you can learn as a gardener is how to listen, attuning to your environment, taking time.  What is the earth, this flower, this piece of soil telling me?  & how can I respond to care for this earth/nature/creature from that listening. I'm passionate about nature & our environment & keep learning how to live more simply on this earth.  I love my work with arts, creativity, dance & meditation, inspiring people to live well & live their best lives. Happy to host WWOOFers who are working or studying remotely, I like long term WWOOFers so if you are looking for a home in a beautiful community & some work alongside your work or study,  please be in contact. I prefer initial contact via message/email. Look forward to hear from you, Stephanie

I love the wonderful Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander land we live on! I have a lot to learn skills in taking care of it thought. I value knowledge sharing and learning with and from people. I'm putting energy this year into understanding sustainable farming practices and building connections with those who do them. I’m keen on environmental activism and recycling, permaculture minded. If these are something you care about I would love to spend time with you 🙂

Mt Jukes Eco Retreat is a farm based on permaculture principles, 35 mins from Mackay CBD and 1hr from Airlie Beach. The property is on 7 acres, completely off the grid run on solar and batteries. We also run our own water and are growing our own food to be fully self sufficient. We hold Yoga classes here most Sunday's in our beautiful Yoga Shala.  Go to our Facebook page "Mt Jukes Eco Retreat" to view our classes. You are welcome to join these classes during your stay. We have a natural spring running through the property so you can swim all year. We have over 300 fruit tree with 50 different varieties. All food that has been planted is based off nutritional values, food is our fuel so we treat what we eat with upmost respect. All meals provided are healing and based on a 5000 year old tradition (Ayurveda). The food is vegetarian, and very delicious! Mt Jukes sits right in front of the property which was a volcano thousands of years ago, not many in this area. Myself (Dave) and my daughter (Dakota) are here most of the time. Dakota lives in Mackay though she works on the property 7:30am - 3:30pm Mon - Friday and is here most Sunday's helping with Yoga classes.  You will also be accompanied by Roko, (my beloved Groodle), 3 chickens and we also have 2 Bee hives. We are in the process of introducing more animals that fit within the system. If you like the sound of our retreat and would like to stay on the property and help us with farm duties please get in contact!
