WWOOFing will allow me to support and integrate with those who are doing it and those who need support. I wish to make a contribution to sustainable living practices.

I'm looking for an immersive experience to try different ways of living and hopefully gain hints about what kind of life is calling out to me. I need to gain lots of practical skills as well, and the best way to do that is through actual work with my hands. Hopefully I can be useful to the host during my stay there, doing whatever work needs to be done.

In my early younger years I couldn't achieve to do this. Now I'm ready to explore and help and meet new people and see other circumstances. Develop myself on another level and being a good member of WWOOF!

I think WWOOF is a good way to make yourself useful and get to know about permaculture, local life, people and the country at the same time. I got very much interested into permaculture during my first WWOOF stay and I would be happy to start my own veggie/fruit garden when I get back home. I love being surrounded by natural wide spaces. It's a precious source of inspiration for me.

I believe in the near future we will have to be much more self sustaining than we are and I am looking to gain as much knowledge as possible on growing food, working with animals, building and especially off-grid living

I really stumbled across WWOOF on my own as I was looking for volunteer/short term working experiences on farms across Australia. My brother and a few close friends are currently road tripping around Australia and I heard they were picking up work and cool experiences as they went. Naturally I went googling as that sounded so great and I was tied to Brisbane for the short term. I checked with a friend who had heard good things so decided I should sign up! I plan to spend 1-2 months (around December, January and February) similarly travelling and as mentioned above, trying out the farming lifestyle.

WWOOFing seems like a great way to travel and meet new people. I hope to learn new skills and knowledge along the way and experience different ways of life. I did some WWOOFing with my family when I was very young and although I don't remember a lot about it, my family tell me it was a really fun experience.

I am keen to leave cold Victoria and to explore life in rural communities outside of the city. There are so many skills that I have yet to learn, and I believe that being part of peoples individual projects and dreams is the best way to learn. I am taking this trip in order to explore a side of Australia that I feel I will not see in the big city of Melbourne. I believe that working for being established in the community will be an excellent way for me work out exactly where I plan to lay my hat for years to go, and help me to gain the skills to one day have my own piece of land and a place to call home.

I have ALWAYS been interested in plants, trees, and nature in general from a wee girl. I dabble in my vegie garden out home, but l would like a better understanding of producing food, animals, or building knowledge on a larger scale in a natural environment. Hopefully l can take the experiences with me from what l have learnt on these farms and put the knowledge into my own farm in the near future.

To meet people and help out on farms using holistic management, NSF or other regenerative methods. I love traveling in the country with my small family, and they love it too. Particularly keen to get some experience with cattle.

Before coming to Australia I managed to get a job working at a school in Sydney, however as a result of lockdown and schools moving to online learning there is no work to do. (This is because most of the work I would be doing is sports coaching and assisting in a boarding house). Thankfully after my quarantine I have been fortunate to stay with my Uncle who lives in Lismore. Although having only spent a limited amount of time here, I have really enjoyed the environment and lifestyle which is certainly different to the UK. I think working on a farm out here would be an amazing opportunity with so much to learn and experience. I think working on a farm would be a positive challenge as it is an industry that I know very little about.

To take a break from my job in technology, and to reconnect with myself and nature. I have always had that itch to work on a farm, probably cause I grew up on one an dearly miss it!

To intersperse my time writing and researching with more physical and social activity. To be with like-minded people in rural areas and to help people on the land with their self-sufficiency, care of the environment and food production.

I joined WWOOF, because I love helping people. I want to see parts of Australia and meet amazing people and places. I have been interested in volunteering since a young age and this is a great platform and opportunity to do this! What I hope to achieve out of this is new experiences, new skills and knowledge and really growing and widening perspective and my journey. I hope to meet people that I can learn from, see how they live and sustain themselves and their land. And to overall have a wonderful time.

I've joined WWOOF quite simply to enjoy learning again. I've always maintained a small backyard vege patch and have eaten as organically as I could. The idea of trying to live more sustainably though has sat in the back of my mind for many years and now with a little more time available to me I feel this is my time. Reading about it doesn't work for me, I need to be hands on for things to really sink in. I so enjoy beingĀ  and working in the outdoors and getting my hands dirty, Being productive makes me happy. I may not have any WWOOFer experience to bring yet but I bring a whole lot of life experience, a willingness to work hard and a total enjoyment of meeting new people.

City/Town: Pokolbin
Farming Methods: Permaculture
Accommodation Type: Separate Building, Caravan, Tent, BYO Accommodation
3 pregnant pigs n funny boar. If you're excited, please keep reading. 450 olive trees too, but they are boring compared to 4 loving social pigs. I'm getting goats n chickens n geese too but they won't beat my pigs. My pigs are the best. I have a 1.6 acre permaculture farm in Pokolbin NSW. 2 hours north of Sydney aka the big smoke. 1 have a studio log cabin n ready to build a 2nd kit log cabin. Building a great composting toilet n gas shower. Hope you're still excited. I'm happy to pay for all food etc. I'm happy for you to plant any food n do aquaponic system etc and pay for it all. I'm looking for people that dream about self sufficient living. You want to challenge yourself to not need a supermarket. If you have no car, no problem. It is 100% unpaid volunteering of up to 6 hours per day. 30 minutes is helping the pigs and the rest is doing something you're passionate about on my property. I'm not trying to save money or make money from you. If you have no car, I will look at supplying electric bikes. If you have a car, I will look at a providing a fuel card and pay for my mechanic to routinely inspect n maintain your vehicle. I haven't started making biodiesel or biogas yet. Keyword is yet! By December 2021 I want, olives, hops, lavender, Rosemary, herbs, vegetables, aquaponic system, chickens, geese, goats milk, etc included. Realistically its not 4 to 6 hours hard labour a day. More like spending time learning n playing. I'm looking for ambitious people that want to use my property as a learning curve. Can we grow rice n corn n barley? Can we try getting fertile eggs n grow chickens n geese n turkeys? Can we eat them or I'm happy to try vegetarian living...... My dream is to have a gardener n animal lover love my property. No preference in male or female, single or couple, gay or straight, religion, etc. But do want no drugs or smoking on my property at all times. If you smoke, you only have to walk up to 50 metres. Not sure about allowing pets so I guess I'm undecided. I would love to have a dog here but undecided. It's 20km from Cessnock, 16km from Broke (McNamara park) 30km from Singleton, address is available after chat. When you visit, look forward to laughing n playing with 4 pigs. Gum boots essential. I am totally excited about sharing a extremely high density organic permaculture farm development with like minded excited people. Oops. I forgot to mention my frogs, tortoises, parrots, owls, eagles, friendly snakes, lace monitors, native bees that call my property home too. My dream is to have up to 4 people enjoy being here. My dream is to work elsewhere and just visit once or twice a week to have an awesome BBQ n do hard farm labour.
