We hope to become farmers in the next few years and joined Wwoof to learn while living and experiencing this life directly. We think it’s important to do this as a family before adjusting our lives permanently. We are passionate about the health of our planet and our connection to land, and that it’s key to addressing many of the biggest issues we currently face as a civilisation. We wish to learn from the experience and knowledge from those making a life on the land and through hands-on experience....and have a great time while doing it!

Because I told some friends who live in Mount Barker and are interested in implementing the integrated food production system that I needed a place to stay near them. Then, they told me that I could work and live in a host of WWOOF.

In autumn 2020 I´ll have 3 weeks in Victoria between my arrival with a cargo ship after 2 months on sea and the start of my holiday with my wife. It´s most probably 28.9. to 17.10.. I´d like to spend these weeks in a meaningful way as a full-time volunteer on a farm or something related.

We decided to join WWOOF as a means for contributing towards the lives and livlihoods of farmers in rural communities. We are in a unique position where we can offer our time and skills and thereby hopefully instil a deeper love and respect for our country and its diverse environment in the hearts and hands of our sons.

Hello. We are a family of 6 (Sons aged 20,18 & 11 year old boy & girl twins) living in Mongolian Gers (yurts) on a sunny property in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges. We have recently moved here and are in the designing and creating phase which is really fun, but there is a lot to do and I'd love some help!

As far as I can remember, I have always wanted to go on an adventure and have always been afraid to take the plunge. As if I told me that I first need to have a 'concrete' professionnal situation in Switzerland before venturing myself abroad. That and other things, I guess! Now that I'm nearly 40, I realize that I have assimilated a lot of professional experiences without finding the good one. And as I was giving up a teacher’s study programm newly begun, I felt a great need to get closer to nature. Taking a step back from my life and getting closer to more basic aspects of life itself in the same time. It’s now or never ! I said to myself. Precisely because I have no 'concrete' situation, paradoxically. And no child nor constraints preventing me from taking off. The idea of wwoofing imposed itself quickly. By providing a reassuring context to my journey (versus backpacking alone for 2 or 3 month) and giving it a strong meaning: participating in various useful activities on organic farms and really meeting some inhabitants of the area (I’m sure that staying and working somewhere for a while is the best way to do it and to experience other cultures and ways of life). Moreover, given the good reputation of Aussies and my desire to learn English, my interest in Australian wild life (so crazy and fascinating!) and the fact that it's summer at this period of the year (without speaking about the incredible opportunity of being 'upside down' and spending Christmas in t-shirt), I didn’t need much time to choose my destination.

I'd like to build my own off grid home one day, so I'm taking the plunge this year to learn all I can about organic farming, so that I might be able to utilise these skills in future.

My wife and I have long considered buying land to live predominately self sufficiently. We would like to produce something to supplement our other work. I am keen to build on my knowledge and experience of organic growing, particularly on a commercial scale. I am interested in exposure to both horticultural and animal based farming.

I’ve joined wwoof to volunteer in NSW at Shepherds grounds farm & village in Butterwick. To experience a new way of living & benefiting by contributing in a community, while learning new ways. I hope to connect with and meet new people and explore new places as well as learn new skills. Im very keen to assist with any fire recovery work after this summers horrendous bush fires. I'm also particularly keen to work in new landscapes and learn about new agricultural techniques as well as be immersed in local flora and fauna. I've lived in remote Western Australia as well as southern cities such as Melbourne.

I've always wanted to work on a farm and now I have the free time to do so. I'm considering studying Horticulture and would also love to learn about permaculture so I thought this would be a great starting point. I'm eager to learn new skills, get my hands dirty and meet some great people - hopefully have some fun along the way. Also, I'm not afraid of doing a hard days work.

I know WWOOF already from previous opportunities and think it is a feasible way in my current situation to get along. I enjoy intercultural exchange and ecologically valuable work.

It's an awesome concept, do some work, tending what needs to be done then watch it flourish... sleep soundly, knowing that you are part of the solution, not the problem. WOOFing will me give the opportunity to learn new skills plus be part of growth within the community and individually. I simply want to be part of planting them, nurture them, then eat them! (preferably not animal's!) With all the madness on the planet right now, let's get back to the basics, slow it down, nature, nurture,

I have joined wwoof to meet the people who are interested in me and my journey round Australia as much as I am interested in their story. What has bought you to this point? I believe that travel should not just be for the wealthy and see the woof scheme as a great facilitator in dispanding that myth. I believe that the scheme is about good experiences and interactions not just cheap labour. I will work hard but only if I think the attitude and outlook of the host is viewed as a reciprocal and fair exchange. happy to work 5 hours a day on average with days off to enjoy the local area and surroundings. But the work must be varied and interesting, that being said I do know the nature of a fair days work as have worked hard my whole life. I am happy to undertake tree work this would be at a reduced rate, but enough to cover my skill set and maintenance of my gear. If this is of interest let me know.

Only recently I heard of WWOOF on a podcast. Looking into it was something that called me to do so. I see that it is mostly for overseas volunteers but I thought, why not give it a go. My work is of a freelance nature, so I often have clumps of days off, sometimes a couple of weeks. I am currently considering leaving Sydney. As well as wanting to experience the country life I have always wanted to see more of Australia. Where to go is an open book. I would love to find a host in Tasmania, but I am open to all opportunities. I am interested in learning about living in unison with nature. I am curious about raising Beef and other animals for food. Permaculture techniques, living sustainably, off grid, water catchment, enriching and producing soil, composting. Building and maintaining fences and other requirements around a property. Taking care of pets and plants. I hope to learn various skills and a greater understanding of what is required to live this life. One day moving into this world permanently.
