I retreat to the universe that provides, in return I give time and compassion into anything garden, cooking, repairing, recycling, caring for animals and other fellows, clearing out old mess, reviving and restoring the old and jagged. I've journeyed through some of my lowest depths so far, and I'm here - seperate from the rat race for a more profound, embodied journey. Moving forward now knowing I can grow to learn the way of nature and become one with the universal source. SO I step into the WWOOF community, liberated and ready to hear what you have to teach me. I choose to WWOOF because its a million opportunities in one, get up and get active, stimulate my mental and a chance to meet some life long mates on my way.

My sister has been a WWOOFer for a few years and she is the one who really inspired me to experience the life of a WOOFer. I have always loved hearing about her travels and listening to her stories, and really wanted to experience that for myself. My degree at uni has played a big role in my decision to become a WWOOFer. I have always preferred hands-on learning, and what better way to learn about sustainable living, than to live it myself and experience it with real life people, rather than reading a textbook!

The Western District coastline of Victoria is where we have our 30 acres, with 5 acres of native bush. We have visiting native animal such as koalas, kangaroos and plenty of birds. It is only a short drive to the seaside town of Portland. We use rainwater for everything and so planting with this in mind is very important. All that we are creating and building here is a wonderful learning and therapy experience. We would love you to join in with us as we try to create a place for all to enjoy even in our small way.

I joined WWOOF because I want to communicate with others more and want to participate in farming! I was originally thinking about visiting my first host family living in Cairns, QLD, but it seems difficult because of this situation under COVID-19. Also, I have been interested in agriculture and farming as it is really a basic part of our life, so farm staying is a good opportunity that suits to both of my interests! In Japan, I was living in a bit of rural area in Tokyo where only farmers are involved in those jobs. And I was working hard to make some money for this study abroad year, so I didn’t have so many chances to engage in farming. My university trimester will end in early October, and my flight to Japan is in late November (if it is go as planned), so I wanted to use those periods to do the things that I am passionate about with all my best!

The reason l decided to join the WWOOF program is because I am in a weird place in my life where I have this window of free time before I hopefully get to study at university in Albury doing an outdoor recreation course. I'm just interested in experiencing lots of new things before then and want to gain some new skills and meet new people.

I joined WWOOF for several reasons; I heard about it from a friend of mine at the Acton Community Garden. I am interested in sustainable, community-focused living. I believe organic, environmentally-friendly agriculture obviously a big part of any sustainable life. I would like to learn more about, not only the food I eat, but the people who grow it and the land where it grows. I'm interested in meeting other people who share these beliefs and ideas! And just getting to know people who are living a different life from the conventional 9-5. I would also like to see more of rural and regional Australia. Although I've lived here all my life, I've not spent as much time away from the city as I would have liked to.

I joined WWOOF in hopes to start my journey to becoming an organic farmer. I’m looking for a hands on work experience of how a thriving farm function. I’m very interested in ethical farming methods that harness nature rather than try to control it. I've studied permaculture principles through books over the past few years and look forward to doing my PDC in 2021. I also just want to meet new people that have the same passion as me and maybe stumble across some new opportunities!

To work on a cute farm and be a peasant working outdoors and eating healthy food, away from pollution. It really seems like the most enjoyable way to avoid covid and maybe I will learn a thing or two about and gardening and self sufficiency.

I joined WWOOF for two main reasons. First, in my study of environmental science and climate change, I've realized how large a role agriculture plays in carbon emissions, especially through land use changes, in a way that is often overlooked. Given the time I have, I wanted to experience a more in depth perspective into the agricultural industry. Second, I spent half of my 3rd year of high school at a selective semester program on a farm in Vermont (the Mountain School), and really loved the experience. I was able to better understand the context of my food and the implications of the food choices I make.

To experience something different during my trip in Oz, I love to spend time by the ocean and nature 🙂 love the adventure and explore new areas with friends. Meeting new people and experience a different life on a farm would be the ultimate travelling experience. Because I worked before in an organic farm in Argentina called San Luis. We've been producing vegetables and then selling into the little markets producers. I have been traveling, so WWOOF let me know some people who work like that and permit to learn.

I have done some WWOOFing in England and Tasmania and really enjoyed it. At the two communities I was with in the UK, we harvested vegetables, weeded, stacked wood, made bread, milked cows, cooked large meals and cleaned. I liked the generous, service-oriented atmosphere of these places and hope to find more WWOOFing experiences in my home country (Australia).

Farming Methods: Permaculture

I live on a beautiful secluded waterfront 9 acres about 45 mins south of Byron bay 20 mins at Broadwater which is near Evans head and am 4 klm's from the Pacific hwy. I love the water, boats, my gardens & bikes. I have been an international traveler for the past 30 + yrs traveling every year, mainly kayaking, diving, motorbike touring and pretty much what ever else was on offer. I am now currently spending more time at home and due to some changed circumstances and am seeking some assistance in maintaining the property here, mainly with general duties like collecting branches and sticks after strong winds, planting, gardening, cleaning raking etc. There are 7 to 8 kayaks here for use on a secluded part of the river an outside garden shower with hot & cold water to wash off. I'm a pretty easy going friendly person, myself and all my friends have love and respect for each other am seeking people of this nature. There is power available outside for campervan users and sink with hot & cold water outside loo and shower if desired and a BBQ area .
