The Baker’s welcomed us into their hearts, home and farm with the generosity and openness that flows from a deep connection to their land and all of its inhabitants. Within days we’d settled into the rhythm of life on an organic cattle farm: mustering cattle on quad-bikes from one paddock to the next grassy offering, searching for calves that had lost their herd, marvelling at Sam the farmer’s skills as he rescued stray calves from creek beds, tending to the garden and daily life.
Given our distinct lack of farmyard experience, coupled with our enthusiasm for gardening, we carved out a few projects (interspersed with farming support and trips to the myriad rivers, creeks and beaches) to fill our days. We had a blessed time slipping into the lives of the Baker family and await their visit down south some day soon. Our deepest thanks ❤️
