Wow, where to start! James and I had the most unforgettable experience at Bonnie Brae. From the moment we arrived, we felt really at home and very welcome in the household. Don and Dougal are both very knowledgeable and share a genuine desire to farm – and farm well. They are both great teachers and were very patient with us. We loved chatting, asking (a few too many) questions, and learning about all the different farming pursuits (both current and historic). Everyone at Bonnie Brae is engaged in the transition to regen. (and there are lots of books available to read too). The farm is magnificent and despite its rural location, we found plenty of interesting things to see on the weekends. It was also a real joy sharing meals and chats with Prue, Maddie, and Hilary who also have lots of knowledge to share about the environment, nature, politics, sourdough, and much more. We loved the opportunity to cook and really enjoyed eating lots of the yummy Bonnie Brae produce and other fabulous house meals too.
