    Short Property Description

We are a multigenerational family of 6  living on a one acre suburban block which is in the process of becoming a permaculture haven. We are three years into implementing the design… vege garden, native strip, citrus grove and Mediterranean grove out the back and food forrest out the front

Our pool is now a natural pond full of fish, plants, frogs and lizards. I haven’t checked the water recently but it is very clear and the plan is for it to be swimmable by summer. (Although we said that last summer 😆)

Our chickens are currently on hiatus; we’ll get a new flock in spring. We have two beautiful border collies who both love people. Friendly dogs are welcome to stay but a discussion is needed first to check their personalities will go OK together.

    Organic/Biological methods we use

This is a permaculture design in the making. The systems that make permaculture work are under development and there is plenty of learning happening as the elements are brought together e.g. plenty of compost happening, water harvesting, mulching, chop and drop, propagation, I’m aching to get some goats – mostly because I think they a super cute plus they help tidying up around the edges.

Why I became a WWOOF Host

I love community living and enjoy sharing space and working with kindred spirits. My partner and I are full time carers for our mum and dad who have dementia. Mum particularly loves people and loves being in the garden. We have a large garden with plenty of space. It is natural to open our home to others. We have recently added a large bus to the garden which will now be the on site WWOOFER accommodation.  Alternatively, we have another house two doors away, which can be used by WWOOFERS when available.
On a gardening front, we are kick starting a whole permaculture design and would love some extra energy around the place to get things rolling.

If you’re interested in staying, reach out and arrange a time to chat so we can get a feel for each other and whether EYOLA is a good fit for you.
