Short Property Description
We are part of an intentional community 5km from Broken Head beach and less than 10km from Byron Bay. There are 11 houses spread over 40 hectares and since our beginnings nearly 25 years ago, our main aim has been to re-establish rainforest on what was bare farmland.
There are now over 200 different species of bird and animal life, which have been attracted by the new habitat. Native animals such as wallabies, echidnas, goannas, and a huge variety of birds are regular visitors.
Our house has been built over the last couple of years with a sustainable focus – it’s completely off grid and gradually becoming self sufficient as vegetable gardens and orchard begin to mature.
Our main projects at the moment involve finishing the house, establishing and maintaining gardens and building a space for chickens, so there is always plenty to do.
