Skills I Want to Learn: Organic Practices, Permaculture/Biodynamics, Gardening, Pruning, Propagating, Composting, Soil conservation, Biodynamics practices and techniques, Mulching, Animal Care, Mustering, Beekeeping, Worm farming, Fencing, Building, Natural building methods, Tool making, Using and caring for tools, Handyman, Mechanical, Dairy, Cheese making, Preserving food, Wild food foraging, Fermenting food, Bread Making, Marketing produce
I have come to WWOOF in hopes to engage directly with positive ecology; an interest that is not limited to one form of practice. Through engagement with prominent and emerging farming practices, I hope to discover more techniques and strategies which may bring them together. I hope to find ways of balancing cash crop seasons with cover crops and rotational grazing. I hope to find ways of practising agroforestry with high biodiversity. I wish to learn about all aspects of farming; from the hunter-gather and permaculture skills from which we began, to the organic bio-dynamic agroforests to which we will go.

A few years ago, I spent a few weeks working in a wildlife rehabilitation center in South Africa and it was amazing. Living in the small, flat country of the Netherlands, I am looking forward to immersing myself in a completely different, open and more rugged environment to work with nature and animals again. WWOOFing seems a great way to discover a new place; while working hard and learning about my surroundings and the people, and hopefully making new friends along the way. I am looking to work for a few weeks in one place, explore the area, and continue to travel more of the country. I would love to work with or around animals, food and wine, or with ocean/lake/river related projects. However, I am broadly interested and open for experiences that had not yet crossed my mind. I'm not afraid of getting dirty and although do not have much experience in farming, I am looking to learn more, and I generally learn fast.

When one of our friends back home told us about her WWOOF experience in Tasmania we instantly knew that this is what we want to do too. We applied for a working holiday visa with a main goal to learn and gain experience rather than earning money. We'd love to contribute and bring some joy through music and good food while doing so 🍀

We think it's the best way to find farms that we can help. Besides, we have already read very good recession about wwoofing and we also think that this is the best way to get contacts.

We decide to join WWOOF because we like to cook and to eat, we like to talk and to laught, we like to work and to learn ! To be a bit more exhaustive, we both want to live a real Aussie's experience by sharing a daily life with australian people. Then, ecology is a value that we share and which seems to be essential. Especially in view of the actual crisis. We would like to learn how to take care of a vegetable garden and to be able to create our own one day. Maybe build our own house as well (we also like to dream). Also, we like to meet new people and to enjoy daily life with them. Which is also a great opportunity to increase our english.

We joined the wwoof community because we want to learn new ways of living and to share stories with other from the community. We believe we can bring a lot to the experience and we will take a lot of knowledge away from our experiences. We already have garden plots and animals but we have much to learn and someone whom can host us will teach us a lot that we can bring back to our life.

I'd like to get a feel for different parts of Australia by working directly with people of different communities and seeing more than just the big cities. I enjoy the interpersonal aspect and the rewarding work that comes with WWOOFing.

WWoofing internationally provides you with a more intimate and well-rounded view of the places you visit. I joined WWOOF Australia to enhance my cultural experience on this vast continent, gain knowledge about different farming practices, and get my feet wet and my hands dirty for a few days.

I joined WWOOF because I had heard so many good things about it. I'm hoping to get new experiences and I would like to see the real Australian life and learn about your culture and this beautiful country of yours. WWOOF also matches my values as I would like to be part of helping in different kind of tasks and still be able to go out and explore near by areas. I would like to learn about organic food and sustainable ways of living. I am also interested about the option to work in bush fire recovery areas (I can help with re-building or with animals) to get my 2nd year working and holiday visa.

We are looking for a farm where we can enjoy new experiences and learn about real Australian life. We thought that WWOOFing could be the best way to make real our dreams while collaborating with farms.

I did wwoofing in Canada and it was really great. We would love to work on an organic farm here in Australia to learn more about the daily life with animals and nature. We are looking for a purpose-driven job that makes a difference.

We have already spent a year in Australia and we are starting the second. We like to travel a lot, meet people, discover the country and learn a lot of things. Nature lovers, we really enjoy walking and hiking or just being outside, taking care of animals, gardening and doing DIY. We spent one year in New Zealand five years ago and we did a lot of Wwoofing. We loved it ! Now our goal is to get a third year helping hosts who are in bushfire recovery areas and doing seasonal work. Looking forward to meeting you.

I'm currently taking care of a friend's property in Glen Huon which has a variety of fruit trees and other edibles - learning as much as I can about permaculture, pruning, small engine maintenance, etc. I move on from here in December 2020 and am hoping WWOOFing will enable me to continue learning about food-growing, permaculture and anything practial with real hands-on experience. I think it'll also be a great way to see more of Tassie and meet people who similarly love getting their hands dirty and want to create a better future through sustainable living that's in harmony with the natural environment. 🙂

Currently I'm looking for a farm job and heard that this organization is the best way to find one. Because of the current situation it is hard to find a job from the city or in general. An organization hopefully gives me support and security finding a reliable job and farm. Thank you in advance, waiting to hear from you!

I joined woof so I could experience Australia outside of the tourist and travelling side of things. I'm keen to learn new skills and meet new people, and hopefully just gain overall experience in farm work.
