We are downsizing and moving into an apartment, which means that our WWOOF host days must come to an end.
We enjoyed our time as WWOOF Hosts; firstly on Magnetic Island and more recently here on the Sunshine Coast, with a seven year gap in between when we lived in NYC, while Gary worked with the United Nations. Saying we enjoyed our time sounds hackneyed, but how to explain the life-experience we had in meeting so many youngsters, most 20-30 years younger than us!
What fun we had.
We are still in touch with our first ever WWOOFers from 1995 and correspond with many other WWOOFers who stayed with us over the years. It is interesting to note the changes in our WWOOFers, from care-free youngsters seeking adventure, to mature young adults, some with university degrees and responsible jobs, while others are young couples with their own children. Some still seek adventure.
