Hi, i'm planning on completing a PDC in January. I'd like to follow the certificate with wwoofing with a host that has a very dedicated and inspired knowledge of permaculture. I am a wwoofer to gain as much knowledge through experience of permaculture as i can in 2009. I'm most likely going to visit many permies but I do hope to find a host in which i can learn a lot from and make the most of the experience by staying long term so i can be part of seeing the different stages of change.
I'd love to hear from you if this sounds like something you could offer!
with warmth, suriya

Hi Suriya
You haven't mentioned where you will be travelling. it is wet in this part of Aus in Jan or hot - not much happening in the line of gardening - just keeping the poultry happy and doing all the wet weather type of gardening - planting, weeding, drainage and mowing if it is ever dry enough! etc.
If you are this way, you are welcome - a visit to this town's community garden is good perm experience too.

Hello Suriya.
We are new hosts and have a 21 acre property which we are
developing using a permaculture system with a view to sustainability.
There are many projects that we have on the list. Some of the tasks
we will need help with are, assembling raised garden boxes, gardening,
watering, pruning, wood chopping, handy man tasks, among other things.
Our wwoofers will be accommodated as part of the household, sharing
meals and downtime with hosts.
We are half an hour from Ballarat. There is a river for fishing within
walking distance and a variety of wildlife that passes through most
days.
You don't say where you will want to wwoof, but if you are interested
in joining us, you can contact us by email
OR Phone.
Look forward to hearing from you,
Regards.
Lindsay and Annette

HI there,
we are a small permaculture community in the byron hinterland on a stunning 40 acres property named Jasper Hall. we are in the wwoof book (NV095)
and have been taking wwoofers since 20 years.
you can also find out more on jasper-hall.com (over 200 pictures)
we usually have between 4 and 10 wwoofers some have been here since over 1 year and a few have become residents...
if you want to live and breathe alternatives to the ever increasing problems of our world come and join the team work with us and have fun!
we are certified organic and there are lots of interesting projects happening at the moment. we grow most fruit (80 species, semi-commercially mangoes, avocados, olives, custard apples) and vegies, market gardens with small crops, garlic (1 acres), bananas (500), papaya (550) have chickens and incubator hut, ducks, pigs and rabbits, a worm farm, many interesting buildings (all recycled, do most of our repairs and machining (200m2 meter workshop, there is even an inventor living on the farm. We have set up an education center, which is a 54 sided geodysic dome. its been finished for a year and is currently our wwoof accomodation (4 dormitory style). We are looking intensively after 35 of 40 acres, there is a beautiful swimming hole with 7 waterfalls, the farm is very private, great food, music, lots of young people. we are currently planting market gardens, build a food drying facility, setting up water systems, building a food drying facility and bathhouse. There is a 4 acres rainforest project, wormfarm and treehouse project. At the moment we are replanting our garlic crop. we are an accredited permaculture teaching venue and are working on writing a curriculum for a 3 year apprenticeship. we have extensive home gardens, a brewery, broadband and payphone. we are striving to be fully self reliant by 2010. there are a number of media projects (educational video production, postcard business, photographic imagebank). We are 4 small children, and 12 adult residents living on the farm.
weekends are off, we prefer long term wwoofers, minimum stay 1 week unless you hate it! we are omnivorous, but have lots of vegetarians coming and can cater for them.
On weeksends there is always someone going to the local markets and lifts can be arranged.
We are 1 km from minion falls which is one of the main attractions in the whole area. There are many bushwalking opportunities, we live in paradise! Jasper hall is for most people an unforgettable experience and there is lots to be learned.
so if you like to check us out give us a call.
best wishes
andi
