Jo-Anne & Michael are new WWOOF hosts. We will be in the Jan 09 book.

Our 40 acres is at Cygnet, 45 minutes south west of Hobart. We have just completed the mammoth task of building our straw bale house and studio and need help and inspiration to get a Permaculture garden & orchard started. Ducks & chickens are on our must have list, so being handy with a hammer to help build some sheds & shelters would be an advantage. We have ten lowline Angus cattle including two new born calves. Although largely cleared, we plan to re tree about 15 acres.

As this is the design & build phase, it would suit WWOOFers with an interest in applying permaculture experience to a blank canvas. Jo-Anne has previous P/c experience and completed a design course last year. Michael is keen to revisit some tree farming ideas (olives, blackwoods, truffle oaks) plus he runs a post production studio specialising in documentaries so there is always an interesting flow of film makers to socialise with.

We have a cute cabin/caravan for S/c accommodation which would suit 1-2 WWOOFers, particularly a couple. Cygnet is an artistic community with a folk festival mid January and many WWOOF hosts in the area. Jo-Anne has limited language skills in French & Japanese. We are gay friendly, age friendly, children friendly - just plain friendly.
