Help is needed at a native seed farm west of Sydney. We have some general farm work such as seed harvesting and cleaning but at the moment are especially looking for help with the landscaping around the house. Includes stone paving and retaining walls, timber work and building a cob oven. Pretty hard work but there'll be plenty of time to relax and enjoy a cold drink and swim at the end of the day.
My contact details are on page 149 of the Jan 2010, page 136 of the July 2009 and page 138 of the Jan 2009 WWOOF books. My entry reads as follows:
2357 NI194 Geoff, Coonabarabran, Our 500HA property is 10 kms west of Coonabarabran on the edge of the Warrumbungle NP. Beautiful volcanic landscape with plenty of wildlife. The farm is 70% natural bushland, great for hiking, etc, and the remaining 30% is a commercial native seed & wildflower farm. The seed is sold for forestry & revegetation projects throughout Australia. The overall emphasis is on innovative landscape design and making a sustainable living from plant products. Work includes tree planting, direct seeding, seed & flower harvesting, seed processing, plantation maintenance such as pruning & mulching. Also building projects. Accom for 1-2 people in our home or our caravan. No children. Mixed diet. NSI. Negotiable stay after initial visit. PP
